Riddell Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Riddell Sports Group is an American company specializing in sports equipment for American football. It was headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois. In 2017, the company relocated to a new facility in adjacent Des Plaines, Illinois. The company was started by John Tate Riddell. He first invented the removable cleat, and then went on to invent the first ever plastic suspension helmet in 1939. In 2008, Dan Arment was appointed president of Riddell. Arment previously worked as executive vice-president and general manager of mass-market business for BRG Sports, Riddell's parent company, which is owned by private equity firm Fenway Partners. Fenway acquired the company in 2003 from Lincolnshire Management. In 2008, Riddell sued competitor Schutt Sports. Two years later, Schutt filed a lawsuit, also for patent-infringement, against Riddell. Riddell ended up winning, leading to Schutt filing for bankruptcy.
says"The work is seasonal so do not expect to make a career out of this job. The work enviorment is soul crushing because of the mindless repetition."
Former Employee - Order Processing Specialist says"Do not care about their employees, very unprofessional."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Nasty managers and too much drama, back-stabbing, internal politics."
Former Employee - says"There are no overall company values communicated or team spirit felt across the departments (individual teams are strong but not as a company). No activities beyond occassional lunches or business contests. There should be 360 reviews and the company should look at the track records of the executive team's people skills. Not good at promoting from within."
Former Employee - Sales Representative says"pay is full commission, you pay for everything with the job, some regionals are good & others are bad"
Former Employee - OUTSIDE SALES says"Every single year sales reps get burned by late jersey orders. The company outsources much of the cloth and more and more reconditioning as well. This causes them to have little control and nobody tells the reps where their orders are. This makes you look like an idiot to your customer and you lose business you have to work years to get back. I also never bought into the propaganda they feed a sales force about the concussion protection their helmets provide. They have good products but they love manipulating testing to produce a favorable impression of their product and parading it around."
Line Leader (Current Employee) says"This place has no leadership and no management. The employees do whatever they want when they want. I would recommend anyone to work here. This job is for kids right out of highschool"

HR Manager (Current Employee) says"Too many managers, lower level employees not paid enough and not enough promotion within. They keep making new positions for managers and overpaying them and not paying the vast majority of employees their fair worth. Too much politics going on with the company. Lead Sales Rep for SC Youth Division (Former Employee) says"I was hired on and asked to have a certain amount of sales by July 31st. The issue was as a youth sales rep, all the money my clients were using were state funds (YMCA's, Youth leagues, Rec Depts, etc) and they were not allowed to spend new fiscal year money until Aud 1st. If given literally 1 more second I had more than $200,000 worth of sales lined up to be purchased."
